Type 2 diabetes can be beaten. It is a war with no quarter given but it can be won. Beating type 2 diabetes comes as we use the weapons we have to fight it.
Usually diabetes causes kidney problems. My diabetes came as the indirect result of a kidney problem. It has been a war ever since.
Wars usually come about because enemies square off. In every war there are prizes to be won or lost, be it a kingdom or just a section of ground.
In wars there are weapons to be employed. In this war diabetes fights from the secure fortress of my own body. It over works my pancreas. It closes up my cell receptors so that energy (sugar) can’t get to my cells to strengthen me. “You can never win,” it hisses in my ear.
I must confess, I have not won the war…but I have won a battle or two. These are things every diabetic can do to win the glucose war. Here they are.
1. You can admit that you are in a war.
2. You can stay in close consultation with your top advisor in this war.
3. You can monitor your sugar. I have not won the war.
5. You can control your eating
6. The final weapon I would mention is exercise.
What Can a Diabetic Eat?

If your body does not produce insulin and if your body cannot properly use the insulin, the cells in your body are harmed.
Cells need the sugar for fuel and insulin helps the cells to use the sugar more efficiently to convert the sugar to energy.
You must give up white sugar, white flour, processed foods, and junk food. You must avoid any food with sugar in it, starchy vegetables, soft drinks, cream and fried foods. Avoiding sugar means you need to avoid eating cake, pie, cobblers, ice-creams and chocolates, including the sugar-free ones.
Carbohydrates turn into sugar in the body and sugar cannot be processed properly in your body because of the diabetes. Remember also that alcohol can cause blood sugar levels to spike. Too much alcohol can increase triglyceride levels as well as increase blood sugar levels.
Complications from diabetes can be severe. If blood sugar levels remain high and are not controlled by diet, exercise and/or medications you could be faced with heart disease, circulation and cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, eye disease, stroke, amputation and even death.

Diabetes may finally have a cure through extensive stem cell research. But for now, diabetes can only be managed by drugs or food supplements that controls blood sugar. I take Alpha Lipoic acid and Chromium because they are helpful in regulating blood sugar.
It is true that diabetes can not be cured completely, but through a regular diet in order to control blood sugar
Diabetes today is mostly caused by a lifestyle that has less exercise and too much sugar. Diabetes can be easily avoided by just doing simple exercises each day like jogging and avoiding sugars. If you already have diabetes, exercise is still the best way to manage it. Food supplements like Charantia and Chromium also helps.
